 Конспект відкритого уроку

         у 7 класі на тему:

«Медицина та здоров"я"

 Підготувала: Соколова Л.В.

 м. Красний Лиман, 2014-2015 н. р.

Тема:            Медицина та здоровя

Навчальні задачі:

Вдосконалювати навички вживання у мові вивчених ЛО теми; навички аудіювання; читання тексту з повним розумінням; навички складання діалогів; вміння висловлювати власну думку щодо певних тверджень.

Розвиваючі задачі:

Розвивати вміння спонтанно і логічно висловлювати свою думку; розвивати слухову пам’ять учнів, їх мовленнєву реакцію.

Освітні задачі:

Готувати учнів до подальшої самоосвіти в оволодінні іноземною мовою.

Виховні задачі:

Виховувати позитивне відношення до медицини, до здорового способу життя.

Обладнання:

Прислів’я та приказки, завдання до текстів з аудіювання та читання, відео з діалогом, презентація.

Тип уроку:

Урок застосування навичок і вмінь.

Технології:

Мозковий штурм, «мікрофон», рольова гра, парна робота.

                                   Хід уроку.

І. Початок уроку.

1. Introduction.

T: Good morning, dear pupils.

    How do you feel today? Are you well? Is it good to be well?

2. Warming up.

T: So today we are going to speak about health and medicine. I think you agree the  

     problem of health is very important. It is getting especially grave nowadays,

     when people are overloaded with work, have little time for rest, do not pay

      enough attention to sport, but drink a lot, smoke, take drugs.

  1. To begin with let’s brush up the words and expressions on this topic.

          Task1. Read and translate the words ( in turn) .

  • to catch a cold                headache
  •     desease                            earache
  •     to fell ill with                   toothache
  •     to consult a doctor            heart attack
  •     to check up                       stomachache
  •     to prescribe a medicine     sore throat
  •     to complain of                   cough

 

Task2. Now look at the pictures and name the symptoms in English.      

Task 3. “ Brainstorm”.

T: What things do you associate with the word “ health”?

II. Основна частина уроку.

  1. Work with the proverbs and sayings.

T: You know there are many proverbs, sayings and poems about health and healthy lifestyle.

Task1. Look at the blackboard and match the beginning of the proverbs with

            their endings, translate them.

-      Early to bed, early to rise makes a person

       healthy, wealthy and wise.

 -     An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

      -     What is tasty is not always healthy.

 -      Good health is above wealth.

      -     After dinner sit a while, after supper walk a mile.

      -     A sound mine in a sound body.

Task2. “Microphone”

T: You have formed proverbs and sayings about health. Now I want you to explain

     them. So, read the proverbs and say what do they mean.

  1. Listening.

T: But when you have problems with the health you go to the doctor.

  • How often do you visit a doctor?
  •  When you have a headache, a sore throat or a cough, what kind of doctor do you visit?
  • When you have a broken arm, what kind of doctor do you visit?
  • What doctor do you visit, when you have an earache?
  1. T: Before listening to the dialogue look at the words and phrases and try to

          guess their meanings.

  • What’s the problem with you?
  • I’m going to give you ….
  • Take the pills….
  • Use the drops….
  1. T: Now listen to the dialogue between the doctor and the patient and try to

           understand:

               -    Who are the main persons in the dialogue?

  •  What’s the problem with the patient?
  1. T: Listen to the dialogue once more and complete the sentences on the card.

1. Mr. lewis comes  to … .

2. Mr. Lewis  has … .

3. He has problems with his … ear.

4. Dr. Norris gives him … .

5. Mr. Lewis has to take pills for  … .

6. He has to use drops … .

7. Mr. Lewis will come to the doctor … again.

3. Role play.

T: Work in pairs. Make up your own dialogues. One of you is a doctor, the other is a patient. Use such phrases:

  • What’s the matter with you?
  • I have a (headache, toothache…)
  • I don’t feel well.
  • I’m going to give you…
  • Take the pills for (a week, a month…)
  1. Reading.

T: Now let’s read the text about the rules of a healthy lifestyle. Before reading the text try to guess the meanings of these words:

  • protein        - протеїн
  • сalcium       - кальцій
  • to сontain   - містити
  • efficiently    – ефективно
  • benefit        - користь
  • to rot         - псувати
  • food dyes   - харчові барвники
  • to get rid    - позбавитися

T: Read the text, please. (Pupils read the text.)

LOOKING AFTER YOUR BODY

There are several things you can do to help you stay healthy.

Eating well

Different food do different jobs in your body, so you need to eat a good balance of all different types. Protein foods make you grow and help repair your body.Meat, fish and nuts contain protein.

Milk, yogurt and cheese contain calcium. Which makes your bones and teeth strong. They also contain protein.

Fruit and vegetables contain vitamins and minerals.You need these to keep your body working efficiently.

Fiber is a carbohydrate that your body cannot digest. It is good for your digestive system, though. It prevents constipation and may protect against some serious illnesses.

Foods to cut down on

Sugar gives you energy but has no benefits; it rots your teeth and too much of  it make you overweight. Some foods, for example milk shakes, ice cream and cookies are mostly fat and sugary. Some people are allergic to additives, such as food dyes and preservatives, which are put into many foods.

Keeping clean

You need to wash every day to get rid  of dirt, dead skin, oil, sweat. This helps to prevent germs from growing and spreading on your skin. Always wash your hands after going to the bathroom and before eating. This helps to stop many germs from spreading, especially those that cause stomach upsets.

Т:: Now we’ll do the comprehension test. Read the statements on the cards and

     say if the statement is true or false. If it is false, correct it.

1.You can eat whatever you like and as much as you like.

2.Meat,fish, eggs, nuts contain a lot of Calcium.

3.Milk, yogurt and cheese are rich in Calcium.

4.Fruit and vegetables contain vitamins and minerals.

5.Bread, cheese, rice are good energy products.

6.Sugar rots your teeth but does not make you overweight.

7.Fiber is good for your digestive system.

8.Food dyes are good for your health.

9.If you want to be healthy, keep clean.

        5. Collective work.

T: Well, I think you have already understood that to be a healthy person you

      Should to live a healthy lifestyle and keep fit. Let’s make up the rules of a

       healthy lifestyle.

                THE RULES OF HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

  1. Get up early and go to bed early.
  2. Take regular exercise to keep fit.
  3. Take a cool/cold shower.
  4. Eat healthy food.
  5. Never smoke.
  6. Clean teeth every morning and every evening.
  7. Wash your hands before you eat.
  8. Keep positive thinking

6. Summing up.

T: So everybody wants to live a long healthy life. There are many ways to keep fit.

      Your hometask is to write some advices on the topic: “How to live to be a

       a hundred? ” We have read the text “ Healthy Henry”. And what advices can you

        offer to live to be a hundred?

  • What did you like at this lesson?
  • What new have you learned?
